Our pastor is the Reverend Hugo Berger. He was born in Argentina in 1957. He grew up in a typical German Lutheran family. Both parents were Germans of a second generation of immigrants to South America and very committed to their As a result, both boys in the family became ministers. Pastor Berger also has two sisters and had another brother who died at the age of fifteen from leukemia. His father passed away about two years ago. Reverend Berger has three lovely daughters: Daiana, Pamela and Melody, all of whom are very committed to their studies in the university. On January 10, 1982, Reverend Berger was ordained after graduating from the Seminario Concordia in Buenos Aires of the Iglesia Evangelica Luterana Argentina, our affiliated church of the Missouri Synod and served in several churches there. After his divorce, he came to America and started as Hispanic Mission Field Developer from September 2001 to January 2006. He went into the Colloquy Program and was accepted as a rostered pastor in March of 2006; at the same time, he also was serving as Interim Pastor in our church. Pastor Berger recently became a Chaplain, after being trained in the Clinical Pastoral Education. In December, 2006, Good Shepherd extended a Call to him, which he accepted. We look forward to having him guide us through our 100th Anniversary Year and well into the future. Pastor Berger continues to work as a Chaplain also. May the Lord always strengthen and support him as an under-shepherd to bear abundant fruits!
