BRINGING HELP AND HOPE TO PEOPLE IN TENNESSEE
What is Lutheran Disaster Response of Tennessee?
LDR/TN is the statewide affiliate of Lutheran Disaster Response. It includes the East and West Tennessee dioceses of the Episcopal Church in a shared ministry with LCMS, ELCA, and UCC leaders. Beginning on March 1, 2005, LDR/TN became affiliated with Lutheran Services of Georgia; Pastor Sims' contract ended on May 05, 2006, but this site will continue to be offerred as a direct resource for Lutherans, Episcopalians, and others interested in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts in Tennessee until transition details are finalized.

The LDR "home office" staff 6/30/04 (Johanna Olson, Amy Bancroft, & Gil Furst)

Gil Furst and his successor, Heather Feltman; Kevin Massey is the current director in 2008.
To Pray During Disasters:
"Lord God, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN." (LBW)
Quote Gil Furst:
"The prayers of God's people are more powerful than these tornadoes...." And I think, says J. Sims, more powerful than hurricane Katrina!
