Regular Worship at Faith |
Weekly worship continues at 10:00 AM on Sundays. Our regular organist is Mr. Pete Schuricht. Our liturgical settings are generally taken from the Lutheran Book of Worship hymnal (LSB).The Second Sunday of the month has generally been a blended service incorporating both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs led by the guitar ensemble, "A.S.K." Holy Communion is generally celebrated on the First, Third, Fourth (and Fifth) Sundays. This schedule is occasionally altered, and you may telephone the office for information on any particular service. During our pastoral vacancy, our part-time preacher who is serving us on a temporary basis, is Matthew Rosebrock, who completed his ministerial studies at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He is currently working toward his PhD in Theology and Visual Arts at Fuller Seminary. Matt is fully qualified and licensed by the Pacific Southwest District to conduct this ministry of Word and Sacrament at Faith Lutheran, Tujunga while continuing his studies. Additionally, other guest pastors will join us on occasion. Bible Study continues at 9:00 AM each Sunday. All are welcome. | |

65th Anniversary Year |
Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sunland and Tujunga is observing its 65th Anniversary Year.
The first services were held in November of 1945 and the church was officially organized and incorporated in 1946.It is fitting that we remember and give thanks for all of the faithful servants who established, built and maintained this congregation as God granted us grace to grow and serve the community during the early years. A celebration was held on May 22 attended by a number of guests and we were pleased to welcome them all to our worship and meal. Catering was by Schreiner's of Montrose and was enjoyed by all. Anniversary gifts are also being received this year and the love and generosity of the donors is known to God and appreciated by the Congregation. Old and new friends are invited to join us in worship any Sunday at 10:00 AM and give thanks for God's special blessings; to be nourished at His table; and to be fed with his Word of power. | |
WORSHIP TIME 10 AM - Faith Lutheran Church is worshiping at 10:00 AM each Sunday. Sunday School for Children and Youth, and
Adult Bible Class meet before the service from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. New worshipers and class participants are always welcome. |

Pastor Collier Retires |
The retirement of the Reverend Charles Philip Collier was announced this spring and his call to Faith Lutheran has ended in June 2011. A potluck lunch and fellowship was held on May 29 following a rite of Farewell and Godspeed during the regular morning service. Pastor Collier sent a note of thanks and appreciation which was published to the members. The Congregation has enjoyed having Pastor Collier serve them and will miss him. (If there is need for pastoral care during this period of vacancy at Faith congregation, you may contact the church office or a church officer who can assist you in finding a pastor.) | |
