I origionally moved down to Seattle from Anchorage, Alaska in September of 1998. At that time I had recently graduated highschool, and had visited Germany for awhile. I was also in a long-term relationship. Being away from home took its toll on me and after three months of living in Seattle I decided to move back home and attend a "real" university. At that time, I was attending Lutheran Bible Institute and felt that it was too small and was too much like a Bible Camp that I couldn't get away from. I also didnt understand the meaning of a calling. After about a year-and-a-half back in Anchorage I decided to try the Seattle gig again and attend Trinity Lutheran College (formerly LBI). This time was gonna be different. I had a better sense of what God was calling me to do, which was missions, and I had grown up a little. Thats where I am today. About a year- and -a -half after moving back down here life is completley different. I have lost about 100lbs, I am in a new long-term relationship with a wonderful man and I am working towards a degree in multicultural missions with the hopes of somedey doing law school or seminary. I am on the Student Council serving as the Global Concerns Commissioner. I was also a LIFE group leader earlier this year, leading discussions on "Boundaries in Dating." For my ministry this year I am working out at Echo Glenn Childrens Center which is a juvinile rehabilitaion/detention center in Western Washington. As far as employment goes, I have four jobs : Office of Developement on campus, Housekeeping department on campus, sales associate at a small retail shop in the town in which I live, and babysitting for a family in the area. I am currently attending a Covenant church in my area as well as the Inn which is a church service for College-age students out at the University of Washington. |
