[Home Page] [Intro]
Frederick Christian Hartman Family
This web site is created to share information
on the Frederick Hartman family. The information for this project
started about 1980 when my daughter, Julie, had to do a geneology
project in her 8th grade social studies class. Since we lived in
Ames, Iowa and I knew that our original family settled in the Clayton
County Iowa area in the mid-1840's we set out on a weekend trip to
gather some information. We also got a lot from aunts and uncles
still living in Nebraska. When son, Jeff, was in 8th grade two years
later, we continued the project and made another trip to northeast
Iowa. We then also sent information forms to known members of the
extended family and compiled a more extended family
tree.
My aunt, Norma Hartman, of Seward, Nebraska
also compiled a lot of information and in 1994 wrote a history of the
George Hartman family (my grandfather). I am using that and the
information we began collecting in the 1980's as the basis for this
site.
As others may view this and have more
information to contribute, please forward it to me. I especially
would like updated data on births, deaths, marriages, etc. as well
and photographs and anecdotal records.
With that let's begin the adventure! Thanks for
visiting!
