Good News at Immanuel |
God has answered the prayers of so many people! The voters' assembly at Immanuel approved the construction of the new school and family life center by a wide margin: 125 - 70.Over the next weeks we will begin the process of moving ILS to the education rooms at Immanuel Church. By mid May we will need to move over there so the initial steps of demolition can take place. Thank you for all of your prayers, encouragement, and attendance at meetings, and for being willing to share your heartfelt support of Immanuel. We look forward to a bright future of preparing children for life in this world - - - and the next!!! We are looking for storage space for many things that we cannot take over to church. So, if you have or know of any possibilities, please call or email ILS. We will also be looking for help boxing up many, many things. If you have some time and would like to help out, please let us know. | |

Weekday Worship Service - First Wednesday of each month |
THE NEXT WEEKDAY COMMUNION SERVICE WILL BE JUNE 6 AT 10:30AMThe First Wednesday of each month at 10:30am at Immanuel – A Unique worship Opportunity for you and/or yours. There’s a wide variety of reasons (physical, social, etc) why people may not be comfortable worshipping with large numbers of people on Sunday mornings. It is for such folks that we offer a worship service (with Holy Communion) on the first Wednesday of the month at 10:30am. If you or anyone you know might be interested and have questions, please call the Church Office 237-2380. Please come and be fed by the Word – the Word of Life! |

| | “Stepping Forward in Faith: Generation to Generation”Psalm 127 declares: “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build, labor in vain.” From the very beginning of our efforts to provide a new education and family life building, it has been clear that the Lord is indeed the builder. Again and again, week after week, we have been overwhelmed by the way in which God has moved in the hearts and minds of His people, encouraging them to be generous stewards of the gifts He’s given them. But God is working in other ways as well. For example, earlier it appeared that the total cost of our project (including the building of the gym and youth group room and the demolition of the old school building) would approach 2 million dollars. Now, however, thanks to a weak economy which has substantially lowered the cost of both materials and labor, it appears that this total cost has been reduced by about $400,000 to under $1.6 million. For which, we say… “Praise God”! And all this, of course, has but one goal: to insure that our children and the children of this community will continue to have a place where they can be taught daily, not only to understand and love God’s world…but also to understand and love His Word! If you have not yet made a commitment (pledge) to this project, it’s not too late. Just stop by the office and fill out a pledge form! Any amount is appreciated, and together with your prayers adds to the sense of congregational excitement that is growing stronger each week! Truly God is doing something very special here at Immanuel! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

| In the Church, red is the color of the Holy Spirit. In sporting these red banners, we at Immanuel remind ourselves and the community that we have been given the gift of the Spirit at Pentecost - a gift that continues to strengthen us in faith and motivate us to witness to Christ our Lord. |

| White - in the Church, it is the color of celebration! Used for the festival seasons of Christmas and Easter, as well as for speical days like Transfiguration, Thanksgiving, All Saints Day, Trinity Sunday, it's a sign that God is blessing us in a special way. |

| In the Christian Church as well as in nature, green is the color of growth. As long as plants are green we know they are continuing to mature and, ultimately, to produce fruit. During the seasons of Pentecost and Ephiphany we focus on the teachings of our Lord Jesus, trusting that they will lead to greater faith and Christian maturity. |
