My Hobby of Railfanning - Chasing Trains
Railfanning is considered by some a very strange Hobby, it's not really when you think about it. I like Trains - be it building models of them, riding them or chasing after them to get pictures. Think of any hobby a person may have and it will probably be the same for the avid fan. [i.e NASCAR - fans build models, collect videos & photos, go to anyplace the cars are shown or run]

So one of the things I like is to see real Trains, in the real world, and to photgraph them in operation or as portraits.

In the New York City area it's hard to find places to photograph train. With heightened security it is getting even harder.

Here are photos of trains that I spotted at various places and added to my collection. Or, photos as part of a trip or whatever. The newest additions are at the end (bottom).

The July 2002 Trip to Philmont, NM
In early July 2002 I went to New Mexico nia Amtrak and back. Here are a few shots along the way.
