Greetings from Bluebonnet Country-2004
Greetings from the Lindgrens!! Wow it's been nearly 2 years since I've updated this site. Lots has happened and lots to keep us busy. Dave has been at his new job at Plains All-American pipeline for nearly a year now. He just loves it, and they are very good to him and appreciate his work!! God is good!!! HE certainly had a better plan for Dave in his work and we are very thankful. I continue to work at our church's preschool with 3 yr olds. I really enjoy it and can't believe that the school year is almost to an end.
Julie
Julie is now 12 years old. She is keeping busy finishing her bronze award in Girl Scouts where she is making baby blankets for a local hospital. She is also swimming year round, and most recently had a lead role in their middle school production of The Music Man. Julie played Marian the Librarian and she was fabulous. She sang so beautifully and was given the award of Best Solo for singing "Goodnight My Someone" and "Til' There Was You". She could really hit those high notes. She will be auditioning this next week for a solo in their school's Pop Show with one of her Music Man songs or "In My Own Little Corner" from Cinderella. She has also had a great year in her studies and I think she's close to being smarter than her parents (and in some subjects, I think she may have already).

Helena
Helena (also 12 yrs old) has been busy doing the same things as Julie. She has finished her bronze award in Girl Scouts, working with a friend to collect books and create a library at a local mission. She was hysterical in her role of Eulalie in her 6th grade choir's The Music Man. She has informed me that suddenly she does not like to perform on stage and hence has decided not to try out for the Pop Show. Too bad. She has a great voice. She is also very involved with year-round swimming and will be switching gears to the outdoor pool this next month to swim with our community team. Julie and Helena have had several fundraising projects going to raise money for a trip to Disney with their Girl Scout troop the first week in June. Helena is also enjoying middle school and making lots of new friends.

Katie
And then there is Katie.....Katie is 8 1/2 yrs old going on 30. She is still our storyteller. But we think we have channeled it in new ways. She is now in a theatre group called Centre Stage. They put on top-notch productions and in May, Katie will play the role of Mary Sue Betty Bob in the production of "Dear Edwina". More excited than her lead role, she gets to wear a strapless taffeta dress in the chorus where she plays a napkin. Don't ask. She is also a fork, a Frankenguest and who knows what else. The more she hangs around the class, she accumulates more roles. The play is like a "dear Abby", and Edwina gives advice from a show she puts on out of her garage. One song will be someone asking her advice and the other song is the answer. As Mary Sue Betty Bob, Katie will give advice on how to save money..."Put it in the Piggy". If she's not at acting class, Katie is also busy swimming year round. She sang a solo in her school's talent show recently. Katie is very much at home with a microphone in her hand. Hollywood here she comes. She's also in her 3rd year of Spanish Immersion. She won't talk it at home, but whenever she has opportunity to speak it, people tell me she's pretty good.

Our New Pool

Our exciting year has had us updating our home. Due to boards crumbling off the side of the house, we were forced to redo the entire siding with hardy plank and paint the house. BYE BYE old yucky blue...hello tolerable new color. Then our poor pool had seen better days. It is nearly 20 years old and had the original plastering...or should I say lack of plastering. There was nothing left but cement and barely that. So we were able to find a great deal and have not only our plastering redone, but also our coping. Dave asked them to cement in moss rock along the back and he ordered additional rocks and dirt and stone and built the beautiful planter box along the backside of the pool. Now we enjoy a mini tropical oasis in our backyard. We still have a lot to do--planning a kitchen remodel, new flooring etc. But that project will be a long time in the planning.
