Dear friends in Christ,
My father died in his sleep last night. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in early December. I know he's in heaven with the Lord and the time of his suffering and frustration is ended. I am doing ok.

Arrangements are in the works to fly him to Cleveland from Florida, so based on that timing, there are no final arrangements yet made. I will let you know.

Everything will be done in Independence, so I'm leaving soon to go to the florist and funeral home. I probably will not be available this week for any church activities.

I don't need anything but prayers for me and my family, as some of my siblings are not believers and this is their first experience with the death of a close family member.

My father was Catholic, but when I last saw him, we discussed his faith and he knew and believed the words of the Apostle's Creed. He was Catholic and did have visits with a Priest, so he had Pastoral care and I have that reassurance.

Dad's name is Steve Polasko.

Thank you for your love and prayers and if there is anything I need I will let you know. Otherwise, just know that it's a blessing to have such wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ who are lifting us in prayer for that strength and peace we need.
