News & Announcements
The G.R.I.P. after-school program begins a new year
on Wednesday, September 9. The group meets at the church each
Wednesday after school until 5:30 p.m. Area students in grades
1-8 are welcome to participate. Programming includes Bible stories
and non-denominational Christian education, snacks, games, projects
and crafts. Activities from past years include preparing and
serving a Harvest meal for families and guests, trick-or-treating
for Jeromesville CARES coin donations, dramatic presentations,
delivering care packages, hikes and group outings, and more.
There is no charge for the program; it is supported by the Stan
McFarlin Memorial Fund, an Endowment grant from St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, and other private donations. For more information or
to register your child contact GRIP coordinator Cassy
Brown.
Hillsdale CARES (formerly Jeromesville CARES) will
have its first free dinner on Thursday, September 17, 5-7 p.m.
at Trinity. We welcome any who are struggling with the economy
or loneliness to join us this evening. This will be a regular
monthly event on the third Thursday of the month. On the menu
for September: spaghetti. Come join us.
Blessing of the Parker Home. Thank you to the many
in the community who have helped in any way with the Megan Parker
Building Project. We will have a short house blessing ceremony
on Sunday, September 20 from 4-5 p.m. to celebrate this completed
ministry.
The CARES bread ministry continues to need gallon size
plastic bags that zip shut, paper grocery bags, sturdy cardboard
boxes, and gift cards of any amount that can be given to needy
families for food or gas. Any donations of non-perishable foods
are also welcome and may be brought to any of the three village
churches (please call if you have perishable items to donate).
Contact the church office if you know a family who could benefit
from our bread ministry. Area churches or individuals who would
like to get involved with the CARES ministry are invited to attend
their monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 29 at the Jeromesville
Christian Church at 7 p.m.
