Catawba Chapter Thrivent families let their imaginations guide them on a journey to galaxies far away and visited fossils from long ago at the Catawba Science Center. On Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2012, member families expanded their horizons with a planetarium show and a special life-like dinosaur exhibit. Entrance ticket also included a shark feeding, a riverbank habitat, information on phenomena of the physical universe, browsing the gift shops, and access to the Art Museum. About 86 adults and children came out for the first Chapter social event of the year, and contributed non-perishable food pantry items for CCM and ECCCM. The Catawba Valley Chapter makes available to members at no charge educational and social events on a regular basis. Watch for details on anticipated workshops on topical issues later in 2012, and how about another Crawdads ball game to while away a summer evening? Stay tuned, and get involved! |
