Artist cleverly disguised as a Stay-At-Home Mom
I am a stay at home mom (oxymoron) who is an artist on the side. You've heard of art therapy, right? Well, with a husband, 4 kids and 1 cat and 1 dog - it's needed! But someday the kids will be raised and I will be a mom disguised as a Stay-At-Home Artist! But now that I have found murals, I guess I won't be staying at home much at all, will I??
Murals and decorative painting

This is in a bathroom. It is about 10' high

And this is where it all began......

This guy peeks out from behind the door when the door to room is opened.

Another shot of the big guy.

My little lemur in the beginning.

This part was fun. I loved creating the texture.

All done.

Spring in the kid's bathroom.

Summer scene in kid's bathroom.

Close up of sprinkler and little girl.
If you look close, you can see the spray from the sprinkler coming down on the spring flowers in the picture below. This is one of the ways i try to tie all the murals together; by putting some of one mural into another.

The spring flower are over the changing table.

This little guy is down by the baseboard - something for the little kids to see at their height!

Another critter for the little ones to see.

Isn't this one cute??

Morning Glory arbor in the adult bathroom - this is set in a corner.

Close up of arbor.
I loved doing this one. And actually I think the ladies like this one, too. Especially as it brings thoughts of warm weather - these were painted in the winter.

St. Somewhere Cafe in West Bend, WI
These are some of the pictures that were in a gallery show in St. Somewhere Cafe in West Bend, WI. Nice little coffee shop with sandwiches and soup, live entertainment and a small art gallery which changes every few months. At the north end of the quaint downtown area.

The Painted Bean Coffee Shop and Art Gallery in Grafton, WI
My next - but not last - gallery show at yet another coffee house. Very cute new one run by 3 lovely ladies across from Ferannti's in Grafton. This was March of 2004. "Faerie Song" and "Peter Pan" went on to win blue ribbons at the Washington County Fair in 2004.

A bit of this and that
Here are some of my other pictures that can't really be grouped into any one area. These - as the others - are done in graphite pencil and color pencil. It is a forgiving medium and one that can be put away quickly and virtually no mess. Works for me for now.
