Greetings! The friends and members of Grace Lutheran Church invite you to come and worship with us!

A congregation founded in 1870, we offer a tradtional service each week with adult and children's Sunday School each Sunday during the school year.

We look forward to seeing you soon! May God's blessings abound in your lives!

140th Anniversary: Celebrating the Grace of God

2nd Church: Prior to 1878
The congregation of Grace Lutheran Church (the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church of Swedeburg) was founded in 1870. Since then the Grace of God has blessed many peoples through the teaching of His word.

A special celebration was held on Sunday, April 18th, 2010. At our morning worship service we welcomed the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's Nebraska Synod Bishop David deFreese as a guest pastor. Bishop deFreese led us in worship and praise. Our service included the Sacrament of Holy Communion and two special musical selections by the choir.

Following worship a group picture was taken, before we enjoyed a delicious catered meal served by Kastl's Catering in Brainard.

Following the meal, we gathered in the sanctuary for a brief program. Guest speakers included the Reverend Richard Woolard and Nebraska State Senator Dr. Joel Johnson. Special music was performed by Allan Pearson (vocal solo) and Patricia Eliason-Starr (piano solo). Congregational singing was enjoyed by all while accompanied by Dr. Margot Woolard (piano) and Rhonda Obert (organ). A skit relating to Grace's earlier days was presented by Arlene and Jerry Johnson.

We thank those who attended our 140th anniversary celebration. Some friends of Grace who were not able to attend sent special wishes. All of you have made these first 140 years very special. Together we have been touched by the Grace of God.
