These are pictures from my trip to Banda Aceh

This boat, literally full and overflowing with coal was washed ashore and dropped in the middle of the road

Just about everyone is Muslim, though there were three or more churches in the area. This is a mosque

The water was much higher than that house, with a strong ocean current

At the shore, we were standing on foundations of homes that were washed away in an instant. It was moving to say the least.

As we drove down this road, we thought we saw a big building or factory at the end of the road. It was a ship that was dumped in the middle of the neighborhood, with houses still standing all around, though the ones underneath were crushed.
