Confirmation Requirements
1:20 Sermon notes each year for a total of 40 notes over the seventh, eighth, and nineth grade years. The reason for this requiremtn is to help the confirmation student develop a pattern of worship attendance with their family before confirmation. This is to help be able to fulfill the promises made at confirmation. *Worship notes can be picked up at the church in the front entry (or the back of the church)before each service. The note is to be filled out completely by the student and signed by both the students and their parent/family member and turned in following each service.*
2: The confirmaiton student is expected to help with the worship services and other activities in the congregation. This could include ushering, reading, and leassons, Sunday School teacher. The confirmation student must help at least 15 times over the seventh, eighth, and nineth grade year.
3:The confirmation student is expected to be involved in a mentoring program during the seventh, eighth, and nineth grade years. This involves visting with older member of the congregation 15 times over the seventh, eighth, and nineth grade years. This could be done either in the person's home or community, or a nursing home or hospital setting. There will be no format for this requirement except letting the Pastor know when a visit has been made.
4: The confirmation student is expected to provide at least 10 incidents of Community Service. This may include Wheels & Meals, Volunteering at the Kenmare Hospital, Baptist Home, Food Pantry, or another form of volunteer work.
Worship notes can also be made up by attending Bible Camp, visiting another church and having the Pastor sign the bulletin, or their worship note form, going to a Church youth event or in another form as approved by the Pastor.
Students will be expected to attend Ash Wednesday and Lent Service as part of the confirmation training instead of going to confirmation class the students will be going to worship.
