Welcome to St. PeterOn behalf of the St. Peter Lutheran congregation, I welcome you to our website and invite you to come and worship with us. St. Peter's is a Christ-centered congregation committed to proclaiming the Gospel and to serving, in Christ name, those in our community and beyond.
St. Peter's is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, one of 11,000 congregations in the United States and neighboring countries. St. Peter congregation just concluded celebrating 150 years of ministry throughout 2007. Some of our families have roots that reach back that far. But we also reflect the growth of families and individuals that have moved into the Bluewater area in recent years.
The congregation understands the importance of worship, so we provide two worship services of various styles to meet the needs of demanding schedules. We also offer adult Bible study on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays and classes for all ages during our Sunday School hour at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Classes are open to all members and friends of the congregation.
St. Peter's also has a vibrant youth program with fun activities, service projects, and Bible study opportunities designed by our Youth and Family Life Minister, Tamara Howes.
Personally, I have been a pastor in the ELCA for over 36 years having served five congregations in Ohio and Michigan. I am married to Donna and we have four adult children and six grandchildren. My outlet is music and currently I play double bass in the International Symphony Orchestra located in Port Huron and Sarnia, Ontario. I also have a passion for history which was my major at Eastern Michigan University.
That gives you some background information about us. To get the whole experience, we invite you to join us for worship this weekend. Worship times are Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 A.M.
His Servant and Yours,
Pastor Roland Troike
