Dear Friends in Christ,Thank you for seeking out our church's website, and if you are reading this I suspect that you are searching for a church home within the community. I know that the search and reflection for a church can be a difficult and at times a disheartening experience. I pray that this is not the case as you journey to Our Savior's mission. The temptation to spend Sunday morning sleeping in, working around the house,or taking the children to sporting events can be great. However, it is our strong belief that each week must begin in honoring God. God's rightful place within the framework of worship begins on Sunday morning's and carries us through the week.
There are many choices within this community, and I am sure there are many churches that might be very appealing on different websites. At Our Savior we practice a ministry of Word and Sacrament. A true foundation is built on the Word of God being inerrant. The trustworthy word, the word that rings true in believers hearts and minds. We also pride ourselves in being a confessional church, one that applies the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and so inspires and encourages us to partake of his precious body and blood on a regular basis. These two elements are essential to our faith walk, and they are bolstered and supported by our Bible Studies, our Youth ministries, our outreach and evangelical teams, our Lutheran Women's Missionary League, our new members class, and so many other invaluable programs that keep our sanctuary open to feed and nourish a world desperate to hear the saving power of its redeemer, Jesus Christ.
We welcome all into our midst, each and every Sunday, and would welcome your presence with us as well. You will find that our parishioners are open, welcoming, and outwardly helpful to all who would enter our doors. Ours is a warm congregation, and one that invites the weary to rest in God's lap, if only for an hour each week.
As we are told in Jeremiah 29:11, God has a plan for all of us. We ask you to allow Our Savior to be part of that plan for you and your family. The worship hour starts at 11:00 am, with Bible study, Sunday School, and Youth Group proceeding at 9:30 am.
Please feel free to visit us, as we worship our Lord and welcome in the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. We are located at the corner of Fall Creek and Capital, just 1 block away from Ivy Tech State College. Both myself and the congregation will be happy to welcome you into our congregation and encourage you to become a member of God's earthly fellowship at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church.
In Christ,
Rev. Robert W. Armao
