Immanuel's Mary-Martha Circle News
The Mary-Martha Circle, also known as the M& M Circle, meets the third Wednesday of the month in the Immanuel Social Hall for a 9 a.m. brunch. We have between eight and 12 women who come for the Bible Study found in the Lutheran Women magazine. We always have room for you!

QUILT TYING: The quilt tying group is a very dedicated group of ladies. They meet the last Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m. in the social hall. The quilts are 60 x 80 and are sent to Lutheran World Relief each fall. Last year, the group tied over 70, so it was a very productive year. Several were tied for Camp Carol Joy Holling's bunkhouse beds, for the graduating seniors, quilt raffle and quilt auction at Camp Carol Joy. So far this year, the weather hasn't cooperated, so the number is down. An extra tying day in March added 8 to the number. A big thank you to Gary and Eileen for donating table leg extenders to raise the tables up and making the tying easier on the back. Hope to see you the next time!

SCHOOL KITS: School Kits are another project of our parish. Last year, 60 were assembled for the kids. Needed in the kits are: 150 sheets of letter-sized ruled paper, blunt scissors, 30-cm ruler, 6 pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, 12 sheets of construction paper, box of 24 crayons, and a cloth bag which is made by the church. If you are shopping and see any of these items, keep in mind that they are needed.

HEALTH KITS: Health Kits are made for anyone who may have to flee their home quickly or for refugees living in exile, to help children, men and women maintain personal hygiene. Items needed for each is one each of hand towel, washcloth, bath size soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, widetooth comb, nail clippers/file and six Band-Aids. Again, when shopping, start a health kit stash!

LAYETTES: Layettes are a big part of our LWR in-gathering. In 2004, 100 layettes were assembled for needy babies. When garage sale shopping this summer, keep in mind what is needed for a layette: 2 blankets, 2 sleepers, 2 undershirts, 2 washcloths, 1 sweater, 4 cloth diapers, bar of soap and 2 safety pins. There is a cupboard in the nursery for the items.

SPRING TEA: The Immanuel WELCA is hosting a Spring Tea for the ladies of the community at the Immanuel Social Hall in April. Watch this space for further details!
