Welcome to the pig roast sandwich dinner and auction fund raiser website!
Support Dennis and Cathy through a fund raiser.
This site is to promote and inform friends of a fund raiser for Dennis and family to offset unpaid medical costs, loss of income and travel expenses.
IT'S OVER AND IT WAS AWESOME!!!
The benefit was held in wonderful weather. Everything came together like clock work. We started at 9:00 a.m. decorating and getting the kitchen organized. By 4:00 p.m. we were ready! People started coming and we ran 859 people through the line by 8:00 p.m. Pies started selling off at 5:30 p.m. and about every half hour after that. By 8:00 p.m. we were selling the last pies and going to the big ticket items that were donated. People were generous we got into bidding wars with pies going for over $700 each.

Dennis and Cathy were able to attend and greet many many people. At one time we figure we had 4 heart transplant individuals and one liver transplant person on the floor at one time. No, we didn't know it and get a picture.
Being a type A person, a numbers guy, we have logged close to 1200 hours from start to finish on this benefit by 135 volunteers. That in itself is AWESOME and I think IT can only happen in a small town community. I too would like to thank all the volunteers and especially the committee. THANK YOU....

Denny's Story, Past, Present and Future!
This is a brief story (Reader's Digest version) of the last 6 months of Denny's (and family's) life. On Tuesday, November 9, 2004, Denny went into Mercy Hospital with congestive heart failure. Over the next three days of testing, while in ICU, two major blockages and a heart aneurysm were discovered. Sometime in the last two years the doctors thought he had had a "heart attack." He had 45% damage to the heart and it wasn't pumping enough oxygen for him to continue to work. Early the next week, he was transported to UW Hospital in Madison. Through further testing and with the adjustment of medications, he was able to come home on Thanksgiving day. (Nov. 25) More tests and more waiting went on until March 24, Maunday Thursday when he was put on the national transplant list. There are three levels and he was on the lowest of the three levels. So he could wait for awhile. As he and Cathy are walked into church on Easter, his cell phone rang. He tried to return the call but it was busy. During church it vibrated again. After church he avoided greeting Pastor and leaves to check the phone. The message said, "We have a possible donor for you, please return this call." He did, they left immediately for Madison calling as they went. From this point you can click the link below to read the rest of this awesome story. What an AWESOME GOD WE HAVE! Fast forward - Dennis came home on April 13.
The rest of the story!
Thank you to those on the committee!
