Pictures
Traditionally, the church has pictures of each confirmation class as part of the historical archives. In past years, some classes have hired a photographer to take individual as well as group photos. As photography has become more expensive, some classes have relied on family members to take pictures.I have a digital camera and would be fine with taking snapshots and then burning the images to CD so that you could print copies and share on line with family and friends. Please understand that I am not a professional in this area -- this is strictly a hobby so if anyone has other suggestions that's fine with me.

Class Gift
Though the years at Immanuel, confirmation classes have given gifts to the congregation. Items have varied from purchasing hymnals to light fixtures to pieces of furniture.
Pastor has suggested that this class donate to cover the cost of having the altar cross and candlesticks replated. He estimates this would cost about $300 and could be completed in 3-4 weeks. This would not be done until after the Easter season.
Divided among the 12 families with confirmands this year would be a $25 donation for each family.
The floor candelabras and well as the stand for the altar Bible also need to be replated but Pastor estimates that would cost around $1000 and so would be better suited to other means of financing.

Flowers
Red carnations are the traditional choice although Pastor has used red roses in the past. Either fresh or silk were selected by past classes.
My recommendation would be silk red carnations. I will do some price shopping for both silk and fresh and will post the results on the web page.
Flower Update
Prices for the flowers ranged from $3.50 to $6.50 each, with no difference between fresh and silk. Since I was not especially pleased with the silk samples available, I took the liberty of purchasing the raw materials and my sister, Lisa Willoughby, assembled the flowers. Shopping the 40% off sales at Michael's netted a cost of $2.75 each.
How much will all this cost?
That's a good question and one that should be kept in mind as decisions are made. The total cost is really up to the group. Please feel free to voice concerns.
Cost Update
Class Gift/family $25 (following Pastor's suggestion)
Flower/confirmand $ 2.75 (silk carnation w/baby's breath)
