A Recipe for a Successful Homeschool
If you are committed to your kids and their future, and have a genuine desire to be with them, YOU CAN HOMESCHOOL SUCCESSFULLY! You may need to aquire some specific skills; however, this need not be a teaching degree. Much research has been done regarding the impact that teacher certification has on a child's success. Guess what? Private schools (where certification is often not required) often out-perform their public counterparts on standardized achievement tests. This is not to say that certain skills and charateristics are not needed to be successful. A commitment to further your own educational knowledge base and knowing when and where to seek assistance/help is a vital component to success. This web site is an effort to provide support, encouragement and education for those whom have taken on the task of educating their own children. Message boards, lesson plan ideas, and newsletters will be provided to the homeschooling community in an effort to empower families to be successful. Happy Homeschooling!
