Elk Creek windows
From the Window comittee: Late last summer it was suggested by several members of the congregation that we look into replacing the storm windows which are currently protecting the stained glass windows. The committeee has had two contractors take a look at the windows so far. We are getting estimates from these two, and have contacted others. We are getting different recommendations on the best way to restore and preserve the windows. Therefore it is especially important that as a committee and congregation we do enough research so that we feel comfortable with our decision. Since we do not yet know what the majority of companies will advise us to do, we are uncertian as to how much money this project will require. However we very much appreciate the donations that have been offered. These donations will be kept in a seperate window account intil needed. Thank you very much for your support. Also, the old window whic came from above the main east door to the church, has been stored under the steps since the education units was added in the 1960s. It is in very frail condition and we believe it to be from the 1882 when the church was built. We are hoping to have it releaded and preserved in its original state to be displayed in the church. If anyone has any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact either Deanna Brunsvold or Myron Lupkes. or Email us at: knstluthps@wctatel.net UPDATE: On Sunday July 1st the congregation voted to move forward with the installation on the protective window covering for the stained glass. It was decided that the stained glass windows are in good condition and restoration is not needed. The new protectors are planned to be installed in Sept or October.

Members are studying over the orignal window which was above the entrance doors before the educational wing was added. The window is be considered for restoration, and possibly being made into a light box and placed above the basement steps.
