 Eva and Ellen Stadtlander |
NOVEMBER 2008Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ in the Cedar River Conference, We were recently informed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America—Global Mission Unit of your support of work in Christ’s church through the missionary sponsorship covenant program. First, we want to say merci beaucoup, jerejef waay, and on jaaraama no feewi—thank you very much (in French, Wolof and Pulaar). We are excited about your interest and involvement in this work. We are looking forward to developing a relationship with you as we introduce you to and involve you in the life and work of the Lutheran Church of Senegal and the Dental Iisayankobé Jolof—the Christian Community in the Linguere Area. Once again, thank you for your participation.
| | Second, we want to give you an overview of what to expect from us. You should have already received our Prayer Page from Global Mission. Every two years we will be working for two months in the United States traveling to various churches and discussing life and ministry in Senegal. So, we hope to meet many of you face-to-face during these visits. Our next Home Assignment is planned for Summer 2009. In an attempt to keep sponsors, family, and friends updated about both our work and our lives we send e-mail newsletters, “The Stadtlander Story.” At this time it is being sent as a “pdf” attachment which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader or another program able to read “pdf” files. We also offer a “Large Easy” format that is formatted with Microsoft Word. This one is not as exciting to look at but it contains all of the words and pictures from the “pdf” version and offers church secretaries the opportunity to cut and paste info more easily into newsletters or other materials produced by congregations. (This address has been added the e-distribution list for the “pdf” version, please let us know if you would also like to have the Microsoft Word version.) Feel free to print, reproduce, and distribute this information to others. “Back issues” of our newsletter are available if you want to hear the “story” from the beginning, just send us an e-mail and we will be happy to send the previous newsletters to you. We are excited to have this relationship with the Cedar River Conference. Some of the congregations of the Cedar River Conference have been added to our electronic-distribution list. If there are other congregations that would like to receive our e-newsletters, please send us an e-mail and we’ll be happy to add the new addresses. Thanks again for your commitment, support and work in Christ’s global church, Pastor Dirk & Sarah Stadtlander (and Eva & Ellen Stadtlander) Dirk Stadtlander / Adama KÂ and Sarah Stadtlander ELCA Missionaries in Senegal Église Évangélique Luthérienne du Sénégal BP 41 Linguère, SÉNÉGAL +221-339-68-12-91 (home) +221-773-53-13-14 (cell)
