Congregational Voters Meeting

Chairman Lorin Fliehs called the meeting to order immediately following church services. There were 24 members in attendance. Pastor opened with a prayer

 

The minutes from the quarterly meeting of April 27 were read. The picture that was framed was corrected to state that it was from Lutheran World Relief. Motion made, second to approve as corrected, was carried.

 

Treasurers Report included balances in various accounts.  A few of those are a General Fund deficit is ($3091.05).  A memorial of $3100 was received in memory of Connie Lenling.  The PreSchool has a deficit of ($2272.94). {{Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has a Giving Plus Program®. It allows any/all Thrivent members (benefit or investment) to donate to our Pre-School and have their monies matched ($2 turns into $3) up to $600/year.}}  Motion made, second & carried to accept.

 

Old Business: 
The old storage shed will be disposed of, the ground leveled and grass seed planted shortly.  The additional Hymnals have arrived.  The large print version is bound as seven booklets.  (If you would like to use the large print version, ask an usher for it.)

 

New Business: 
Motion made, second & carried to admit Jason Holm to membership by adult instruction.  Motion made, second & carried to transfer membership of Eric May & Ashley Stene to Zion Lutheran in Andover and Nikki Sombke to Emmanuel Lutheran Albany, MN.  Motion made, second & carried to grant a peaceful release to Pam Rix (to Emmanuel Lutheran in Groton ).

 

The Brown County Fair is August 10-16.  Lutherans for Life will be having a booth and Friday, August 15 is the day we help in the booth.  If you could be there for a two hour shift, please talk with Duane Neumann.

 

Waubay will be installing a candidate the first Sunday in August. (Pastor Grams has been assisting them during this vacancy.) 

Ron Beldon’s lot, across the street & southeast of the church, is for sale.  (Conversation was about the church needing additional parking. Discussion included the fact that parking is available to the north at the school. Talk with Lorin or an Elder about possible purchase by the church.)

Matt Locke may be setting up a powerpoint to be projected onto a big screen for one of our services so that we might consider the purchase of such a unit.
