National Lutheran Schools Week
The theme for National Lutheran Schools Week 2007 (March 4-10) has been "Lutheran Schools: A Great Place to Grow" with two Scripture references of 1 Corinthians 3:16 and Ephesians 4:15-16. The sub-theme for this year is "Transforming Lives!" based on 2 Corinthians 3:18 - "And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."
Treasure Sale
It's time to start stock-piling all those treasures you no longer have any use for. The annual school Treasure Sale will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, June 15th through 17th. We are asking families to please store your items, if possible, until Saturday, May 27th, when we can begin setting up and putting them in the gym. If you have any questions, or need more information, you can call Alicia McKittrick at 373-0086, Bob Joseph at 656-8128, or the school office at 656-1021.

7th Grade Car Wash
The 7th Grade will be washing cars in the west parking lot on Tuesday, April 11th. We will wash from 1:00pm to 2:15pm, and then again after chapel, from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. Come and support the 7th Grade class, and get your car clean for Easter!
In case you miss it, we will also be doing a car wash on Friday, April 28th, from 2:00pm to 4:30pm. Freewill donations accepted.

8th Grade Recycling
The 8th Grade is still collecting aluminum cans to turn in to Golden Recycling to raise money. Thanks to your help, they have raised $12.00 so far. Instead of someone waiting every Wednesday before and after school, just call Tami Schopp at 656-2281 to arrange pickup. She can meet you at school just about any morning to get your aluminum cans. Thank You!

Tutor Available
Is your child struggling academically? Do you think they might benefit from some one-on-one tutoring? Mrs. Laura McCoy, who has taken a leave of absence from teaching this year, has let us know that she is interested in tutoring your child. If you have questions or are interested, please call her at 896-0207.

Special Chapel Service!
Wednesday, January 4th's chapel service was very special here at Trinity Lutheran School. Pastor Richholt baptized Josiah John Loomans, the newborn son of Mr. Ted Loomans and his wife Susan. We feel very blessed to be a part of such an important time in Josiah’s life!
Pep Club T-Shirts
This year we are doing something a little different. Instead of having cheerleaders for the Boys’ Basketball season, a Pep Club for all ages has been organized, to cheer for boys basketball and girls volleyball. Josie Spencer has designed a t-shirt. The t-shirts are white with the new pep club design, and will sell for $10 each. There will be a table set up in the hallway after school beginning Monday, January 9th, to place your order. Just one more way to support our school!
Weekend Ski & Snowboarding
Red Lodge Mountain is in the process of recruiting for their weekend Ski and Snowboard programs, and have asked for our help. There are two options:
The "Training Team" is a development team, meaning the majority of the emphasis is on instruction rather than competition. Students must have experience skiing and a positive drive to improve. This is limited to 50 participants, ages 7 & up.
The "Saturday Ski & Snowboard Program" is designed for skiers (ages 7-15) and snowboarders (ages 9-15) from never ever to advanced intermediate levels. The focus is on skill progression, safety, and mountain etiquette; all while having a fun adventure on the slopes! Children will be grouped according to age and ability, and will be supervised all day by coaches.
Every Saturday two chaperoned buses will transport skiers and snowboarders from Billings to Red Lodge. Call 652-3161 for details and pricing. A copy of the registration form is available in the school office, or call Snowsports Sales Desk at 446-2610, extention 107.
Winners Announced!
Winner of the 1st quarter contest for Campbell Soup labels and General Mills BoxTops is the Kindergarten classes. They have won an Ice Cream party! the Kindergartens had 1,187 items combined, with the next closest class being 7th Grade with 587.

Prayer Requests
Throughout the year, many people experience various challenges and heartaches. The power of prayer is amazing. Please remember the Prayer Request Sheet on the Bulletin Board across from the office. We want to help with those special needs by bringing them to our Lord in prayer. If it is a need that you would prefer remain confidential, you can drop it off to Mrs. Heiliger and she will pass it along to the teachers for their early morning devotions and prayer time. We also have a group of parents meeting the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 8:15 A.M., in the school gym. Everyone is welcome to join them. They will be praying for the students, staff, and families of Trinity and also any special prayer requests.

Jessica Leuthold was recently named to be one of forty teen advisors from across the United States for AboveTheInfluence.com. The website, AboveTheInfluence.com, was launched to provide teens alternatives to peer pressure. It allows teens to review questions and solutions to positively deal with teen pressure. This website is maintained with the support of the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. Through this partnership, teens will find positive access to dealing with sex, drugs, and alcohol. I encourage you to check out this website. Congratulations Jessica on being selected to be a part of this group. It is great to see our alumni sharing their gifts and talents with others, especially in a way that will help their peers.

Katie Groot and Danae Lenz are co-founders of a new club at Senior High called "Read it Forward Book Club." It invites students to read a variety of genre and share their love of books. They're also able to share their reviews of books on Senior’s website. It is one of many initiatives at Senior to encourage literacy. Way to go girls! Pursuing your own interest while sharing and encouraging others is a great way to make your mark at High School. Keep it up!
