SWISS ALP LUTHERAN HERITAGE FOUNDATION

UNITED EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH
The Foundation was started so that individuals could contribute funds that would be secure and that the Capital would not be spent but would be invested and only the earnings would be used. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide support for rural ministries, with United Evangelical Lutheran Church being of primary concern. With that basis the foundation was founded as a non-profit organization with a federal 501 (C) 3 classification. The foundation operates under the direction of the board of directors who are elected from a slate of nominations and all serve on a sliding scale of terms in office. The present officers are: Gina Minzenmeyer, President,Gale Lincke, Vice President, Les Koether, Treasurer and Sandra Smith, Secretary. Other board members are James Hatfield, Wallace Brown, Rev. Lemae Higgs, Rev. Walter Hildebrandt and Johnelle Minzenmeyer-Miksch. Mrs. Emily McKay serves as an advisory member. The board meets quarterly, with the annual meeting being held after the first of the year. Our distributions from earnings through January 31, 2007 were $12,400.00 given to United Evangelical Lutheran, Swiss Alp; $500.00 St. Mark's Hospital Chapel, $2,000.00 Brad Otto's Seminary expenses, $2,000.00 to St. Paul Lutheran, Runge; $1,00.00 to St. John Lutheran, Rutersville and $2,000.00 Witting Evangelical Lutheran Church. For a total of $19,900.00. The address for the foundation is: United Evangelical Lutheran Church; 2038 FM 3171, Schulenburg, Texas 78956 Phone 979-247-4151 OR you may contact: Gina Minzenmeyer, at 979-247-4508 or gminzenmeyer@fais.net

SEMINARY ASSISTANCE
SWISS ALP FOUNDATION SEMINARY ASSISTANCE

The Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation (SALHF) has funds available to help with the expenses of going to the Seminary to study for the Lutheran Ministry. So, if you are thinking about a career in the Ministry of the Lutheran Church and you are a member of United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Swiss Alp, SALHF wants you to know that we will help you with some of your expenses. The Gulf Coast Synod is also working toward funding Seminary expenses. So, who should consider becoming a Pastor? I believe it is God who Calls individuals and it is individuals who must listen to that Call.

Does that mean we should sit down and wait for a voice to speak to us? Well, maybe not sit down and wait but there may be a voice and that voice will probably be the voice of a parent, a grandparent, a friend, a teacher, a pastor or even a stranger. How do we hear the Call? It is by being open to suggestions or statements, like “You would make a good Pastor” or “The Church needs good strong leaders like you” or “You like to work with people and that is what the Church needs in Pastors” or “Why don’t you consider the Ministry?” or “God has given you talents and abilities, are you going to use them in His Service?” There really is no way that all the different approaches that God uses to speak to people can be listed on paper. Listen, and you may hear his Call. If you have questions about Seminary requirements, speak to Pastor Lemae, she is on the Synod committee that screens students interested in the Ministry.

If you do not know what Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation is and would like to know more, contact Pastor Lemae, Gina Minzenmeyer, President or Walter Hildebrandt.
Briefly, the Foundation is a non-profit corporation and has a 501 (C) 3 tax exemption status. Our sincere appreciation to our initial benefactor the Richard McKay family.

During the past 4 years ending 12-31-07 the foundation has made the following contributions: United Ev. Lutheran Church, $12,400. St. Mark’s Chapel Fund, $500. Brad’s Seminary expenses, $2,000. St. John - Rutersville, $1,000. St. Paul - Runge, $2,000. and Witting Evangelical Lutheran Church $2,000. For a total of $19,900.

All contributions remain in the Foundations and only the earnings are distributed by the Board of Directors. Presently, all of our funds are invested and are earning 7% to 8% simple interest. If you want to support the foundation you can do so by making a contribution to Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation, 2038 FM 3171, Schulenburg, Texas 78956 or by contacting Gina Minzenmeyer at 979-247-4508 or e-mail her at gminzenmeyer@cvtv.net.
