Mini-Parish Groups
This
is the division of groups for the Mini-Parishes each month.
You
will meet one month in advance to plan for your month. Please help
when you get the call!
Brief Description of
Mini-Parish Duties
Coffee & Cookies:
Make coffee before the first service begins. The "recipe" is by
the coffee maker in the sacristy. Have napkins, cups, treats and
coffee ready at the serving window. After serving, clean the
coffee pot and serving area. Servers should pour the coffee to
speed up the line.
Ushers: Be at
church at least 20 minutes before the worship service. Light the
wall sconce candles, hand out the bulletins, assist with directing
congregation during communion and take the offering. If the
acolytes don't show, light the altar candles before worship and
extinguish at the end.
Lectors:
You should receive a copy of the lessons
in the mail so you should be familiar with them.
Acolytes:
Candle lighters are by the meeting room
in the Gathering Area. Matches are found on the coat rack by the
meeting room off the Gathering Area. Prior to the start of the
service light the altar candles first. Then start at the bottom
candle and work your way up the candelabras. During the closing
hymn extinguish the candles in the reverse order you lit them.
Greeters:
You will want to be at the church 15-20
minutes before the worship. There are nametags on the narrow table
by the sanctuary for you to wear. Stand by the front doors to
welcome the worshipers.
Funerals:
Parish provides cakes, workers, and other
things needed for the funeral. If enough cakes and workers cannot
be arranged within that particular month's parish the coordinator will
go to the other two months in the quarter.

mini-parish groups are divided into quarters:
January - February - March
April - May - June
July - August - September
October - November - December |
