REGISTRATION INFORMATION...Starting January 11, registration papers will be given out to parents of current students, church members and alumni families.New parents wanting to find out more about Immanuel Lutheran Preschool are invited to attend a special meeting on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 7:30 pm. There will be a special power point presentation, a visit to the classrooms, and you will have a chance to meet the staff of our preschool. An application form is signed that evening if you are interested in enrolling. If you cannot attend the January 25 meeting, you may stop by the preschool January 24-27 (Tuesday-Friday, between 9am-1pm) to sign an application form. Applications are then separated into age groups, and then all applications are drawn in random order to fill spaces available left after current students, church members, and alumni families register. Families will be notified within 2 weeks if space is available for their child. A waiting list begins at that time. Families will then be called in the order they asked to be on the wait list. |

OUR MISSION STATEMENTAt Immanuel Preschool we assist the children to grow in their knowledge and faith in Jesus as their Savior and Friend. The "heart of education" is the “education of the heart,” and that is our primary reason for existence. At the same time we assist the children in their mental, emotional and physical development, all the while encouraging and promoting a strong family unit at home.

Our Philosophy At Immanuel Preschool your child is nurtured in a Christian, family-like atmosphere and hears daily how s/he is a special and unique child of God. The education of a child Is a partnership between home and school. Parents are recognized as the child’s primary teachers and supported in that role. Your child’s needs and interests are considered through carefully designed individual and group activities. Children are encouraged to make choices that interest them while learning through discovery and play. Children learn when they are happy and Immanuel Preschool creates a joyful atmosphere in the caring and loving development of the whole child. |

Time to Check In! |
When children arrive at school, they change their circle from the “I am a Home” board, to the "I am at School" board. Each child also has a specific number and animal picture to help them remember where to put their circle, jacket, and school bag. These circles help them to recognize their own name and also the names of their classmates. Parents bring their child into the classroom at the beginning of class. When class is over we bring the children out the front door on Grove Street where parents are waiting.

Parent Volunteers! |

Class size is 16-17 children. There is a teacher, an aide, and a parent helper during each class session. Parents sign up ahead of time and not only enjoy working and playing in our classroom, but also help to make our program what it is.This parent involvement is crucial to our program. Some parents are only able to help once a year, and others once a month. We appreciate any and all participation!
Family Night! |

Each year in the fall the families get-together for an evening of songs and fun. The 3's families trace the shape of their child on a large piece of paper and have fun decorating it, while the 4's, on their night, make a table runner together which later will be laminated and used over and over in their home. Alumni children are always asked to come up front for a picture. Tradition is important at Immanuel and the families look forward to the continuity and special traditions of our program.

Family Night! |
Families get together for an evening, singing, making a project, enjoying each other, and most of all making another happy memory! |

Harvest Day! |

At Harvest Day we all dress as farmers. There are 6 -7 centers set up. Children move through centers as they peel carrots, make apple turkeys, make an earthworm project, paint a fall ceramic, and decorate a handprint turkey! Whew! It's a lot, and it's great fun! We center our praise and thanksgiving on the Lord as we sit and enjoy our lunch together. There are also songs to sing and a short movie.
Ready for the Christmas Program! |
The whole preschool celebrates the birthday of Jesus in December, but on one special December afternoon we all get together for a Christmas Program in our church. |

Reptileman! Wow! We love his visit! |
In January each year we have a special guest come to our preschool.Reptileman is a regular at the preschool. His entertaining ways and knowledge of the many animals he brings certainly entertains us. Another regular is a very entertaining and funny women called “Dot.” She is a stand-up comedian for preschoolers. Adults and children both enjoy her creative and amusing ways as she tells her wonderful stories. See other special events listed at the top of page 3 of this website. |
