► Rev. Dana Wilkie was installed as pastor of our congregation and St. Peters Lutheran Church in Muscoda on August 30, 2009. We sincerely request that you keep our congregations and Rev. Dana Wilkie, the pastor that God has chosen for us, in your prayers.

► Many thanks to all of our volunteers who have been working so hard painting, cleaning, and working on the general maintenance of our church building and grounds. It looks great!

►Synod President Addresses ELCA Assembly
Read LCMS President Gerald B. Kieschnick's remarks to the ELCA Churchwide Assembly in Minneapolis, given the morning after the ELCA's decision to allow non-celibate homosexuals to serve as pastors.

►Synod President Comments on Obama Health-Care Plan
In this month of stormy debate on President Obama�s national health-care proposal, Dr. Gerald B. Kieschnick urges the church to stay abreast of developments�particularly those affecting such issues as abortion�while keeping in mind our call to �care for others out of our love for Christ and His people.�

► Sunday School will resume on September 13, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. God's Word is so important for the children. Parents, please bring your children regularly to Sunday School and church. May all of us invite children and their parents in our communities who may not be attending Sunday School and church.

►Sunday Morning Worship time changed with the new year. Worship with us at 10:15 a.m.

► Enjoy singing? Join the newly formed Christ Choir! Contact our organist if interested. "Praise the LORD with the lyre, make melody to Him with the harp of ten strings!"(Psalm 33:2 RSV)

►Thank you to everyone who donated money, food, worked or attended the soup supper at Christ. We served 79 and had an additional 73 carry outs for a total of 152 meals. Thanks again for making this a successful event.

►The elders at Christ are looking for volunteers for a "Growth and Healing Committee." We would like a few members to form a committee that will work toward the growth of our congregation. Please contact one of the elders if you are willing to take part.
