My name is Mike and I'd like this page to be a discussion about what it means to be an evangelical catholic in the Lutheran church. What is an evangelical catholic? Well first I believe that Lutherans are not Protestants. There is a great web page that describes this, the Orthodox Lutheran web page. Evangelical catholoic's can also be called Orthodox Lutherans. Personally, I don't see how anyone can read the Augsburg Confession and come to any other conclusion, "our churches dissent from the church catholic in no article of faith but only omit some few abuses which are new and have been adopted by the fault of the times" -- Augsburg Confession XXII Prologue. Luther was a true reformer, he never intended to start his own church, but "fix" what was wrong with the church of his day. If you would like to start a discussion around this, feel free.
