This outreach-training course will be for anyone interested in learning tools and techniques for engaging with the community. It will be a combination of classroom training and discussion and walking out in the community to become skilled by applying what you learned. More significant, you will learn how to build ministry around a particular neighborhood in response to the community.

If you have been struggling with how to
• Walk with the poor in meaningful ministry
• Engage with your neighborhood in the life of the church
• Develop a new ministry
• Take the Good News of the Gospel to your neighbors
• Celebrate the gifts of your community

then this course is for you! You will learn and practice practical skills in the geographic area surrounding Redeemer Lutheran Church. This area is tremendously diverse and offers a wealth of different scenarios where you can hone your skills and gain confidence before going to your own neighborhoods. Join others to form a network of support in your learning. Above all, this should be fun!

Initial Training Dates:
June 1, 2009. 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
June 10, 2009. 10:00 am to 12 Noon
Choose one date or the other. This is the same training with two opportunities.

Cost: $10.00 to cover cost of materials

Your director, Myron Heaton, did his undergraduate and graduate work with Weston Noble, Roger Wagner, Alice Parker and Paul Steinitz. He did his Doctoral work with Robert Page and Leonard Bernstein and was assistant to Robert Shaw for four years. He has directed many choirs of all levels and now is Artistic Director of the Myron Heaton Chorale - a professional choral ensemble. The Chorale has been choral ensemble in residence at the Salzburg Music Festival in five different seasons

Adult Choir July 6 thru July 16 excluding weekend
Intense short schedule choir rehearsals every evening at
6:30pm
Choir will sing at 10:00am on Sunday, July 12
Choir will perform on final program
Thursday, July 16 at 7:00pm
