Sharing the Beauty of Fall Share the love of seeing the beautiful fall foliage with your children. Take the time to experience and talk about the changes in the season. Halloween is coming. For some children the day is frightening. Talk to your children about the fun of “make believe”. We ask that your child not wear a mask to school as part of his or her Halloween costume. It impairs vision and is one of the more frightening aspects of Halloween for young children. Face paint is acceptable. Dominoes Fund Raiser: We will shortly be sending out the paperwork for our Fall fund raiser. We will be selling a Dominoes Pizza discount card. For $12 you buy the card and every time you buy a Dominoes Pizza you get another of equal or lesser value free for one year. Use it as often as you like. For anyone who eats pizza this is a bargain. 3 Day 3’s October is a month filled with many activities. We completed our color book and hope you enjoyed it. We can all recite the Pledge of Allegiance and are working on name recognition and cutting skills. We talk about the change of seasons and are enjoying watching the leaves begin to change colors. We put leaves and pumpkins on the hall bulletin board and will soon turn our green leaves and see the colors of Autumn. Our art projects and new songs will prepare for Halloween, and we are all looking forward to wearing our costumes to our Halloween party. 5 Day 4’s What a great year we have ahead of us! We started off by talking about our families and sharing our photos. We had a lot of fun learning about our five senses, especially “taste,” when we tried to eat lemons and unsweetened chocolate! We have started working on our alphabet and number folders and will continue to do so throughout the year. For “A” Week, we learned about apples, Johnny Appleseed, and Autumn. “B” Week had us bowling, playing with beanbags, and looking outside for brown things for our wreaths. Be sure to ask you child about the balloon races. We will be making chocolate chip cookies during “C” Week, experimenting with celery, and playing charades. (Thank you to all for sending in such interesting items for our “Letter Box.” I think my favorite so far was the bag of “air!” ) We’ll then delve into Fall-themed crafts and preparing our room for Halloween. Extended Care We are off to a good start with our new friends and have many things to learn. We started our “All About Me” booklets - a fun project to work on all year long. Our crafts have included apples and our brown tree, busy bees buzzing around the hallway, and colorful cats for the letter “C.” Our class will soon start our Fall scenes. We’ll walk outside to see the colorful changes around our beautiful school. The Halloween parade and party will be on Tuesday, October 31st. .
