ASSISTING MINISTER DUTIES

 

 

1.      Talk with Pastor by Wednesday of the week you are serving.

 

2.      Come to church at least 20 minutes prior to the church service to go over any last minute details and practice pronunciations of names with Kathy Schanski, Mary Michelsen and Pastor.

 

3.      Robe (found in closet in pastor’s office).  If it is hot, we will not robe.

 

4.      Receive prayer requests from pastor, from ushers during the service (there is a prayer request form that, if anyone has listed anyone, will be given to you).

 

5.      During the service the Assisting Minister will lead the prayer of the day, offertory prayer and prayers of the people.

 

6.      The Assisting Minister prepares the table for Holy Communion as the offering is being collected and then leads the offertory prayer.

 

7.      The Assisting Minister will also help to serve Holy Communion along with the pastor and acolyte.

 

8.      At the end of the service, the Assisting Minister and pastor walk together and stay to greet people as they leave the sanctuary.
