"Marked by the cross of Christ forever we are called, gathered and sent for the sake of the world." |
Church of the Epiphany |
| | | The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Epiphany was built at its current location in 1928. Originally the congregation worshipped in lower Manhattan. German first generation immigrants made up the majority of the original congregation. Over the years, the melting pot that is the Bronx shaped the community. Our current membership is actually a mosaic of God's children and we celebrate our cultual diversity in the unity of Christ Jesus. |

OUR MINISTRYWe are proud to serve our community of Norwood in the North Bronx. Our office hours are Mon., Weds. and Fri. from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Our Vicar has office hours Weds. from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Our Thrift Shop gets donations daily and provides low income clothing and household items and gives away as much as it sells for a nominal fee. All of this flows out of our public worship each Sunday where we hear of God's care and love for us and our role in the ongoing renewal of our world. We have received the good news of God's salvation in Christ Jesus and we proclaim the life of love, freedom and service. We are embraced by a loving and gracious God and share this life of faith and service with others. We have Sunday School for youngsters ages 6-14 Our Youth Mentoring Program with Fordham University takes place every Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you. | |
