LITURGICAL DANCEYou may have seen Liturgical Dance mentioned in the bulletin and wondered just what it is. Liturgical dance is a way of joyfully praising God by the interpretation of sacred music through graceful movements and expression.
Dance in worship dates back to Old Testament times:
Miriam led dancing, singing and praise. (Exodus 15:20-21)
David danced before the Ark of the Lord. (II Samuel 6:14-23)
Praise God with timbrel and dance. (Psalm 150:4)
There is to be dancing when Israel is restored. (Jeremiah:31:4, 13)
Our present dance team was formed in the Fall of 2006
The current dancers are (See photo - left to right) Lindsay Youngdahl, Meg Anderson, Deanna Lee (choreographs and instructs the dancers), Samantha Anderson, Megan Koceja, Lisa Koceja, Megan Blackwell.
They dance at many of the church festival worship services.
