What We Believe . . . |
As Lutherans we believe that God has made us as His own dear children, but
human beings fell into sin and were under the punishment of sin and death.
God loves us so much He gave us another chance. That chance was God
sending His only begotten Son to live the perfect life we could never live,
and then He took our punishment upon Himself. Jesus suffered, died and
rose again from the dead to redeem us lost sinners.On our own we do not have the power to believe, so God gave us His Holy
Spirit which creates faith in us, and gives us the power to believe in Jesus
Christ as our Savior, the only way to be saved. |

God tells us about His plan of salvation and about His love for us in His own Word, the Bible, which
is our only source of knowledge about our God. Following God's Word we now have the opportunity
to do as He asks of us, out of thanksgiving for all the blessings He has granted to us. We are saved
by grace, not works!

Becoming a Member . . . |
People join Zion in one of three ways:+ By transfer from a sister Lutheran Church Missouri Synod congregation.
+ By affirmation of faith for those who were confirmed in the Lutheran Church.
+ By adult confirmation. Adult membership classes are offered throughout the year. This class ex-
plains the basic teachings and practices of the Lutheran Church. At the conclusion of the class,
participants decide if they wish to join. | |

+ Worship regularly.
+ Support the Lord's work with their time, talents, and treasure. | |
