An opportunity is given to each member of Hope Lutheran Chapel to serve their Lord in different areas in the life of the church. Members are encouraged to participate on committees and organizations to grow closer to their Lord and in fellowship with one another. CHURCH COUNCILThe council consists of the President and Vice President of the congregation; Elders; Chairmen of the Boards of Christian Education, Finance, and Trustees; the Financial Secretary; Treasurer,Secretary of the Voter's Assembly, and committee chairpersons. Meetings are held Thursday evenings prior to the Voter's meetings.
VOTERS' ASSEMBLYVoters' Assembly is an important and vital part of the church's work. It is through voters that the church is able to do the Lord's work. A potluck dinner is held immediately after the 10:00 a.m. service. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and meat is provided for the dinner. The Voters' meeting begins approximately 12:30 p.m. In December, a Voters' meeting is held after an advent service.
ORGANISTSHope Chapel is blessed to have four organists sharing their gift of music.They help inspire a meaningful and beautiful service.
COFFEE FELLOWSHIP Members and guests are invited to Coffee Fellowship held every Sunday before Sunday School hour. This opportunity allows for church members and visitors to come together to get to know one another and to share with each other
FELLOWSHIP HOST, GREETER AND DONUT PICK-UP Members serve their Lord on Sunday mornings as Fellowship Hosts or Greeters or by picking up donuts. In this way a member is able to serve the Lord with a smile and a Christian heart to make members and guests feel welcome.
HOPE CHAPEL PRAYER CHAIN Through this ministry, prayers and the love and concern for God's family are lifted up to our Lord. It is the prayer of Hope Lutheran Chapel that God blessand guide them in this ministry.
CHOIR AND BELL CHOIR Membership in both choirs is open to all members of Hope Chapel, with an interest in singing, ringing, and praising the Lord with music.
YOUTH GROUPYouth are invited to join in the Bible study and activities of the group. Youth Group is for grades for 5th through 12th grade. Parents and members are encouraged to be a part of the Youth Group in sharing a gift they have or to lead the group.
HOPE LUTHERAN LADIES GUILD The guild is a member of the Lutheran Woman’s Missionary League. They meet the second Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. All ladies are welcome to join. Some of the current projects are: making quilts for Lutheran World Relief, having parties for the workers at the Sheltered Work Shop and the area nursing homes, Spring & Fall Rummage Sales, serving a lunch or dinner in the event of a funeral. All proceeds are disbursed to the Glory of the Lord to aid various Mission Projects both at home and abroad.
LWML CIRCLE OF HOPEThis group of working women, young mothers, or women who cannot attend the daytime LWML meet the third Monday of every month at 7 p.m. They have devotions, Bible study, fellowship, and work on their main mission project, sending “Packages of Hope” to the service men and women in Iraq. They lead an “Art of Glory” committee for making banners and baptismal napkins for the church.
CIRCLE OF FRIENDSCircle of Friends, meets at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month for devotions, study and fellowship and is open to any Hope Chapel member.
ALTAR AND FLOWER COMMITTEE This committee,sponsored by the Ladies Guild,prepares the altar for worship and communion. Linens, paraments, candles and flowers are taken care of by this committee,
USHERSEach Sunday a group of men serve their Lord by acting as ushers to help members and visitors to the church when needed. They help with communion, collect offerings and help the acolytes prepare for the lighting of the altar candles.
DRIVE-IN COMMITTEEHope Lutheran Chapel in the summer months have members working at the services outdoors as greeters, hosts, servers or to share their gift of song.
All these committees have faithful and dedicated members who serve their Lord each Sunday. These committees along with officers in the congregation play a vital role in helping the Lord keep house and welcome the lost to His church.
