Pastor Guillaume Williams, Sr.

"This," He told them, "is what is written:
The Christ will suffer and will rise from the dead on the third day; and that repentance and the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all people, beginning at Jerusalem. You will testify of these things."Luke 24:46

Hope Lutheran Chapel welcomes you to our website. We hope you will be edified by finding on it the many ways we go about fulfilling Christ’s words here in Luke 24, that repentance and forgiveness in the Name of Jesus are preached here and outward. We believe this is the primary purpose of Christ’s Church, the proclamation of the free gift that is in Christ Jesus—forgiveness, eternal life and eternal salvation for the whole world.

Holy Communion is offered every Sunday at every service. Throughout most of the year we use page 15 from The Lutheran Hymnal on Sundays. On Easter Sunday at the 7:00 a.m. service and from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, at 7:30 a.m.,a service is held outdoors with an abreviated service (The Absolution and Holy Communion is served inside the sanctuary for those who desire it.) This is for travelers and vacationers who otherwise may not come because they may be dressed more for going out of the Lake than for Sunday Service. We stress “Come as you are, Worship in your car” for these services. Our 10:30 a.m. service is our normal pg. 15 TLH service during these times. Please read our closed communion statement found here

Our primary way of fulfilling this is through our regular Sunday services and special services throughout Advent and Lent. Here God’s Word, in particular the Good News of Jesus Christ is proclaimed through our service, the lessons, the sermon, and the Sacrament. We also have plenty of educational opportunities to delve deeper into God’s Word in Sunday School — in both children and adult classes. We also have opportunities with other weekly Bible studies such as Living Way, a men’s breakfast class and a women’s lunch class.

The Lutheran faith is often summarized in what is called the three sola’s—sola grace, sola scriptura, sola fides (only grace, only scripture, only faith). It is only by God’s grace that we hear the Gospel, the forgiveness of sins on account of Jesus and believe its message. It is only through faith, which is a gift of the Holy Spirit wrought by the Gospel, that we receive such forgiveness and are declared righteous before God. It is only in the Holy Scriptures — both Old and New Testament — that we may know God’s good will for us, for these testify of Jesus, crucified, dead, resurrected and ascended to the right hand of God. We believe we should only get doctrine from the scriptures and therefore human reason, traditions, teachers of the Church, fathers of the Church and Church councils must all be subjected to the scriptures. Only those things in agreement to the Holy Scriptures should be considered as proper teaching.

The teachings of the Lutheran Church can easily be found www.bookofconcord.com and as members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, how we look at current issues biblically may be found at www.lcms.org which the denomination to which Hope Lutheran Chapel belongs. If you choose to go to the first website, I suggest you read the Small and Large Catechisms first, followed by the Augsburg Confession. These give a good foundation as to what we believe as Lutheran Christians.

Please come and visit us. You will hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. It’s the best news in the whole world.
