Hope Lutheran Chapel Communion Statement:
If you are a confirmed member in good standing of a LCMS congregation, are repentant of your sins, and believe Jesus gives you His true body and blood for the forgiveness of your sins in the Lord's Supper, you are welcome to commune with us today, (I Cor. 11:17-32) For Lutherans, receiving the Lord's Supper is an action of the celebrating community signifying a oneness in faith, life, and worship of the community. (I Cor. 10:14-22, 11:18-19, 26; Eph. 4:2-6)
If you are a visitor from another Christian Church body or other faith, we welcome you to our service. As a sad consequence of the divisions in Christianity we cannot extend to you a general invitation to the Lord's Supper. Reception of the Lord's Supper by Christians not fully united with us would imply a oneness which does not yet exist, and for which we must all pray. If you are a visitor and not sure whether or not you should commune, please speak with the Pastor, Elder, or Usher before the service.
