Hi Folks—

Well—by the time ya get this missive the choir will have hung up their voices till fall ‘n’ the bells will have been put to rest until September. WOW!!! What a time it’s been.

Oh, by the way, somebody forgot to put in the bulletin our sweetest, quietest member of the choir for ‘choir Sunday’!!! SHAME! SHAME! ‘N’ she’s the cutest, too.

Speakin’ of choir—they’ve been invited to repeat their Choir Sunday performance at Concordia. Who knows they just might become famous or something..

Things are gearin’ up for vacation Bible School. Hope you’ve marked your calendars to take in this event. Laura Skudjins is really workin’ hard to get things organized to make it ‘n’ memorable. ‘Course I’m really interested in what’s on the menu ‘n’ maybe some of the entertainment.

We got word that Helen Hedke is workin’ hard to get back into action. That’s good news ‘cause she sure has been missed ‘round the ole church house. Ya never know when someone is goin’ to have to take time out to get things back under control. Come on, gang, we need y’all to take better care of yourselves!!!

Clean-up has started ‘round here. The bushes have been trimmed; plans are in the works to strip ‘n’ wax the floors; windows are goin’ to be washed; twigs ‘n’ such are goin’ to be picked up. There’s lots to do to get things lookin’ spiffy. Lend a hand ‘n’ get things movin’!!!

Well I’d better be scattin’ out of here.

See ya—ML

PS—Don’t forget Father’s Day!!!

Hi Folks—

April showers were suppose to be over so we could have some May flowers!!! The weatherman’s got things messed up ‘cause we’re havin’ showers instead. Bummer!!!

We had a taste of beautiful weather ‘n’ then those doh-dohs sent in some rain. I think they ought to be fired for makin’ Mother Nature mad at us. What do ya think?

I overheard Craig Osborne talkin’ ‘bout some excitin’ things comin’ up for our young people. WOW!!! Looks like our young folk gonna be havin’ some fun time once school’s out. Hope there’s some food involved ‘cause a lotta activity sure makes me hungry.

Speakin’ of food—did y’all take in the free meal of American ‘n’ Indian cuisine? That stuff was right up my alley!!! If was goooooood! I liked the spicy stuff. It was just enough to give the ole tongue a tingle, but not enough to give ya heartburn. Yumm! Yumm!

I guess the bell and vocal choir are gettin’ ready to wind up their season for the summer. Now’s your chance to provide some special music. I know Debbie would like to have somebody to solo, sing a duet, play a musical instrument or maybe even dance a jig to fill in where the choir usually sings. That way we always have somethin’ special to add to the service. Someone could even volunteer to recite a poem, maybe; tell a bed-time story (oops! That wouldn’t be too good. Everybody’d go to sleep ‘n’ miss the Pastor’s sermon.)

Well I’d better get outta here!!!

See ya, ML

PS—“Happy Mother’s Day!!!” Don’t forget Memorial Day neither!

Hi Folks—

Well Spring has sprung!!! Some of the nights are still a little chilly, but I can live with that. Hopefully the snow’s gone bye-bye. How’s everybody’s allergies? Heard that the pollen count was out of sight so you’d better be takin’ your allergy pills. Can’t have ya sniffin’ ‘n’ snottin’ on Easter mornin’. We may have had a mild winter, but some of our congregation got sick anyway. Helen Hedke’s in the hospital, Jean Reynolds is still out of commission, ‘n’ there’s been a flu bug goin’ ‘round.

Speakin’ of Easter—the idea of an egg hunt terrifies me!!! All those kids runnin’ ‘n’ screamin’ while they hunt eggs. Yikes!!! A fella could lose his life if’n he got in the middle of all that. But I do get a kick outta the way people get all dolled up for Easter mornin’. I think they oughta do it more often. Goin’ out ‘n’ buyin’ new Sunday-go-to-meetin’ close would sure give a big boost to the economy.

Word is were goin’ to have a game night in April. Haven’t heard any of the details, but that could prove interestin’. Then there’s somethin’ ‘bout getting’ a kids group together. Hope that keeps them on the straight ‘n’ narrow. Can’t have ‘em findin’ somethin’ to get into that they shouldn’t.

Plans are comin’ to gether with Vacation Bible School. I’m kinda lookin’ forward to that. They always have some good eats; which is right up my alley. Speakin’ of food—I think it’s time for lunch. I’d better get to lookin’ ‘round for somethin’ to eat. Gotta go!

See ya-- ML

Hi Folks—

It’s that time again. My word, how time does fly!!! However—they say that comes with getting’ older (did I say that?) Y’all know that this mouse is NOT getting’ older, no siree-bob!!! Heaven forbid. Y’all know that “Old” is a dirty word.

Anyway—are ya gearin’ up for Easter? Word is plans are in the works for an Easter Egg Hunt! ‘N’ ‘fore we get to Easter we got mid-week services that sound like real winners. Plus, I hear that we’re havin’ soup ‘n’ salad ‘fore each service. Yummmmmmmmm! Ya know I can’t resist food. Got to sample it to make sure its good ‘nough to eat.

Did ya know that we still have bats getting’ into the ole church house??? I hear one was chasin’ our janitor ‘round the building the other day. Keep your eyes peeled for bat droppins and flyin’ objects. Just remember that they’re more scared of you than you are of them.

Guess the presidential race is heatin’ up; ‘cept I don’t pay much mind to what those yea-whos are goin’ on ‘bout. I don’t know if they know what they’re talkin’ ‘bout either. However—it is your civic duty to get out ‘n’ make your mark on those pesky ballots. Your minds are just as good as those politicians.

I’d better scat out of here ‘cause Greta gonna want to get the newsletter fixed up for March.

See ya-- ML
