Education

The Education Committee provides continuing faith-based education for the congregation, young and young at heart.  This committee also oversees the duties of the Sunday School Superintendent and the Vacation Bible School Director.

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered for children during the school year at 9:45 a.m.   Classes are available for Pre-K and Kindergarten (Teacher: De'Anne Smith); 1st and 2nd grade (Teacher: Tiina Smith); 3rd and 4th grade (Teacher: Mike Wubben and Angela Olson), 5th and 6th grade (Teacher: Tom and Heidi Jakob); junior high (Teacher: Dannis and Emily McCullough), and high school (Teacher: Bruce Sorensen and Paul Joubert). 

Vacation Bible School

VBS will be scheduled for June 2007. Volunteers should contact Jodi Robbins at 388-1358.

First Communion Class

Any child can take communion class with a parent and the pastor.  All third graders take first communion class with the pastor for six (6) sessions in the fall.  If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Bill at 388-1358.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a three year program offered for students in the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades.  The classes are scheduled around the students' schedules and occur during the school year.  After completing the program, students are confirmed on Reformation Sunday (October) of their 11th grade year.

Classes for 2006-2007 are 8th graders on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.; 9th graders on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and 10th graders on Sundays at 5 p.m.

Adult Forum

An adult forum is offered during the Sunday School hour during the school year in the Fellowship Hall.  The adult forum is currently studying Spiritual Disciplines. The class is led by Bob Coughlin and other lay leaders.

Pastor's Study

Pastor Bill offers classes on a variety of topics from divorce to parenting to bible studies.  Currently, he is not offering a class, but if you are interested in a topic, please contact Pastor Bill at 388-1358.

Men's Breakfast

The men of Peace Lutheran meet Wednesday mornings at 6:00 a.m. to eat breakfast, study a book or the Bible, and discuss life's challenges.  They are currently discussing the small Cathecism.

Women's Afternoon Study

The women's afternoon study is not currently meeting. If you would like to lead an afternoon bible study, please contact the Congregational Life Committee for assistance.

Women's Evening Study

A women's study is also offered on the first Tuesday evening of each month at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  The study is located in the Lutheran Woman Today magazine.  The 2006-2007 study is focusing on "Hope in God in Times of Suffering."

Saturday Book Club

Peace Lutheran offers a gathering on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall to read and discuss a book of interest.  The current book is What You Do Best in the Body of Christ by Bruce Bugbee.
