(785) 625-8821Dick Kaczor was installed as pastor of Grace Lutheran on November 14, 2001.
Kaczor was born and raised on a farm in Nebraska. In July of 1963, he married Delores Ahrendsen. The Kaczors live at Hays. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Nathan, who is married, has two children and is the Tight Ends Coach at the University of Louisiana at Monroe; Joel, who is married, has two sons, and works for Mortgage Sources in Lawrence, KS; and Elizabeth, who is married, has two children, and does Quality Management for SRS out of Lawrence, KS.
Kaczor graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO, in May of 1964, and has a Master of Divinity degree. He has served as pastor at two congregations in Canada and at Holy Cross Lutheran in Scott City, KS.
Kaczor worked for Lutheran Social Service (LSS) in western Kansas and had offices located at Trinity in Great Bend as well as at locations in Hays, Garden City and Colby. He has served LSS as area administrator, counselor, life enrichment director, author and special needs adoption social worker and development. In December of 1996 he received his Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Kansas and became licensed in that profession in February of 1997.
Dick also has completed the "Writing for the Church" Workshop operated by the Board for Parish Services of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and has written such things as a Children’s Christmas Service and children’s messages for a pulpit resource journal published by Concordia Publishing House. He also enjoys hobbies such as writing hymns, baking, drawing, painting and working with wood.
