SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS

“And the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galations 5:22-23. During Lent, we will be looking closely at each of the spiritual fruits and relating them to the yummy fruit that God supplies for us to eat. We learned about God’s unending love through pineapple rings and how we should bubble over with joy, like an apple pie bubbles over, as His children. Of course we are having samples of each fruit treat, so you may want to come and have a taste. The ultimate goal for us as Christians is to be “TRANSFORMED” from the inside out with all the attributes of spiritual fruits, rather than to be “conformed” to the outside, sinful world. The kids will tell you that we can’t be “TRANSFORMED” without studying God’s word, coming to Sunday school and church and always be steadfast in prayer.

Our theme song for the last few months has been “They Will Know We are Christians by Our Love” as we have studied how to show others that the “LOVE of JESUS” fills our hearts. Kristene’s Jr. Hi class bubbled over with love by making a darling heart shaped pillow for Sylvia and taking it over to her. The boys were so proud as they walked through the halls to Sylvia’s room and sweet Sylvia, just beamed with joy to see all her visitors. I am sure that we have the beginning of a wonderful, long friendship as another visit was planned on the way back to church!!! I beamed with pride to watch Christian love in action through our boys and their wonderful teacher, Kristene.

We are getting a great start this year on filling our Perfect Attendance Ark as twelve students received an animal for January; Christian, Dalton, Jordan, Lindsey, Sara, Caleb, Zac, Shaellen, Blake, Kayliegh, Jacob, and Lauryn. Jesus is smiling, me too. Good job kids and faithful parents and grandparents!

I want to say thank you to all of our teachers and Viv for their faithful service on Sunday mornings. The adults have enjoyed being led by Rick Schmidt and now Barbara Stubbs. Thank you good and faithful servants. A special thank you to Melodee for all of her many years of service; Melodee is going to take some time off and Carolyn is going to take their class every week. Thank you ladies, God Bless you.
Merry Christmas and Blessed Easter….”Keep on loving each other…” Hebrews13:1.

Perfect Attendance Ark

This is the perfect attendance ark. The stuffed animals are placed on the ark each month for every child that has perfect attendance for the month. At the end of the year, all the stuffed animals are collected and given to the area children that are in need of Christmas gifts.

Celebrating birthdays by placing pennies in the birthday cake!
