Knock Breast Cancer Out of the Park on August 3, 2008 was a great success. We raised over $4000 for the Breast Cancer 3-day and its beneficiaries, Susan Komen for the Cure and the National philanthropic Breast Cancer Fund.
The Grand Prairie Airhogs proved that real men wear pink as they defeated the Pensacola Pelicans by a score of 7 to 3. Breast Cancer survivors were honored during the game. It was a Great Fundraiser for Team Thrivent.

The 2009 Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk

It all began with an inspiring Opening Ceremony at Southfork Ranch in Parker, TX. With the theme song from “Dallas” kicking off your journey, you were greeted by a beautiful sunrise over the ranch, complete with views of the resident horses and bulls. Friday’s route took us through Plano, Richardson, Dallas and Murphy, where support from the community was all around and excited cheers from local elementary school students put an extra spring in our step!
Saturday morning was chilly as Santa greeted us for breakfast in camp. As you headed out for a 20.7-mile route the weather warmed up and there was not a cloud in the sky. The scenic route took us through Carrollton, Plano and Dallas on numerous park trails, and we enjoyed lunch at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. Some pink unicorns were even spotted, as male crew members got in to the Breast Cancer 3-Day spirit! The cheering stations seemed endless, as crowds came out to support our efforts. Matthew and Dianna were among the crowd. Thousands of hugs were shared by both walkers and crew.
On Sunday, there was excitement in the air as we left Timberglen Park for the final day of your journey. We made your way through Addison, Dallas and University Park in an incredible 17.9 miles. It all culminated with a beautiful Closing Ceremony at picturesque Southern Methodist University.
The money you raised will go a long way to helping Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund save lives.

Welcome to The Team Thrivent web page. The 2007 walk was October 26-28, It was a life changing experience.
As 3-Day participants, we have made a bold commitment. We trained. We fought against fatigue. We celebrated completing 60 miles. But one thing was certain: we didn't do any of it alone. It is because of you, our family and friends, that we were able to commit our bodies, minds and spirits to complete this journey that only takes three days, but makes an impact that lasts a lifetime. So, thank you for being there for us, so that we could be at the Breast Cancer 3-Day to battle breast cancer, honor loved ones and, most importantly, celebrate our lifetimes. Thank you. A Taste of Nappa |
On August 10 Team Thrivent Hosted A Taste of Nappa, a wine Tasting party. It was a fun night as we learned about wines, and Mingled with our supporters. We raised $1020 for the cause with this event.
