MISSION GRANTS      2010-2012 BIENNIUM

 

 

1.        Concordia Theological Seminary, Food & Clothing Co-op Ft.Wayne, IN                     $ 7,500

            Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN

                To provide financial assistance for the Food and Clothing Co-op to purchase

                food items to help relieve the financial burdens of the families at the Seminary.

 

2.         Lutherans Do Care in Appalachia                                                                              $10,000

            Our Savior Lutheran Church, Chillicothe, OH

                To support the ongoing work of the deaconess called to serve Diaconal Outreach

                and Services (DORCAS), an organization comprised of nine LCMS congregations in the

                Appalachian Region.

 

3.         Mission Team Formation Grant                                                                                 $15,000           

            The Appalachian Mission Partnership, The Ohio District, West Virginia

                To fund the formation of mission teams in different West Virginia cities

                and towns to develop new LCMS congregations.        

 

4.         Ohio District Student Aid & Recruitment Committee Grant                                      $10,000

            The Ohio District LCMS

                To assist the Ohio District – LCMS students who are training for full time ministry

                In the LCMS with tuition, books, and other costs of their education.

 

5.         Ohio District Student Aid & Recruitment Committee Grant                                     $10,000

            The Ohio District, LCMS

                To assist the Ohio District – LCMS seminarian students who are training for full

                time Pastoral ministry within the LCMS, with tuition, books and other costs of their education.

 

6.       Refugee Ministry – Southwest, OH                                                                        $12,600

            Christ Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, OH

                To fund the developing Lutheran ministry to refugees resettling in southwest Ohio.

                To provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to the refugees.

 

7.       Trinity Lutheran Blind Ministries                                                                           $ 4,000

                Trinity Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH

                To provide nutritional, educational, and spiritual support for the blind and                                                      

                visually impaired individuals in the Toledo area. 

 

8.       Victory Lutheran Church- Food Bank                                                          $ 3,000

            Victory Lutheran Church, Youngstown, OH

                To serve the needy of the community by providing food and clothing and by

                creating an environment for Christian fellowship.

 

9.       Worship for Shut-Ins                                                                                 Partial Grant $7,900

                Lutheran Ministries Media, Ft. Wayne, IN

                To fund television air time for a weekly program called “Worship for Shut-Ins.”
