Thanks for your contributions, donations and hard work. As a miracle result the fundraiser for Chris overshot its goal of $10,000.

As you know we have an awesome god and he definately let us know he was at work in the hearts and minds of all that attended. According to the last message I received the amount of money collected from the benefit was over $17,000 and then there was an additional $5,000 added from Thrivent Financial for a total of more than $23,000 for Chris... how awesome is that!!!!

Great news - We are a little more than half way to the goal of $10,000 for Chris. I talked with Tony Waalen last night and he stated that the building we are using is absolutely huge (150x150)

Utgaards Hatchery - is where the event is to be held and that we can begin setup Wednesday (Oct 10) night on until Sunday night. Tony also said that there is TONs of stuff for the silent auction and raffle so it should be fun....Tonys number is 715-248-3146 - If you want to help out - volunteer - plan on meeting on Saturday at about 3pm at the Star Prairie Lutheran Church

That way we can be plugged in where needed. It sounds like there is a bunch of support from Chris's school class as well.

Jay and Amy Flaherty's (Heathfield) oldest son (Chris) who is a young teenager was recently diagnosed with cancer. The cancer is located in and around the bone marrow of the ribs. Chris has been undergoing treatment including radiation and chemo therapy. Chris recently visited the Children's Hospital in Minnesota, Chris had surgery and had the infected rib and one rib above and below removed to try and stop the spread.

Bethany Lutheran Church is coordinating a fund-raiser event for Amy's family to raise money for medical bills and the surgery.

This is a big deal and you can make a difference in this persons life as well as your own.
