Welcome to the home page of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (LCMS), in McMinnville, TN.
It is our sincere prayer that every life that is touched by the members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church will experience Christ’s grace and love at work.
We believe that God comes to us in Lutheran Worship. God comes to us in His Word written in the Holy Bible and in the preaching of His Word. And God comes to us in the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. God is faithful and true to His promises to always be with us. God comes to us. And, we give Him our prayers of thanksgiving and praise.
Our worship services are held each Sunday at 9:00 AM, followed by fellowship and coffee, then by Sunday School and Adult Bible Study at 10:30 AM. Midweek Bible Study is held following a short worship service at 6:00 PM on Thursdays outside the season of Lent. Lenten services are held on Thursdays at 7:00 PM following a fellowship supper at 6:00 PM. Holy Communion is offered on the second and fourth Sundays of each month and on other special occasions. We are a small but growing congregation, currently served by Vacancy Pastor Roger C. Paavola (of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church, Cookeville, TN) assisted by Pastor David McMinn and Vicar Ryan Cramer. Beyond spreading God's Word in our community, our goals include calling our own pastor and building our own worship sanctuary. In the meantime, we use the sanctuary and other facilities of a Seventh Day Adventist church at the address above and are served by the pastors and vicar mentioned here. We also enjoy close fellowship and worship experiences with the members of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Cookeville, TN, the home church of these pastors and vicar.
