Pastor Rolf Wangberg and his wife, Pat, are leading the LSS/LDR volunteer rebuilding efforts in Rushford. According to Pastor Wangberg, "The clean-up work has been completed... We are looking for skilled volunteers, people who have good carpentry skills, and people who can handle sheet rock and taping. More than half the houses in Rushford need rebuilding, and we will be working all through the winter."

Number of volunteers since Aug. 19: 5286

Teams totaling over 50 members have been part of the 16 trips to Rushford, MN in the past year. Most of the work was done in a 100 year old house owned by a young family. The house had received extensive water damage during the flash flooding that ravaged southern Minnesota in August, 2007. Team members installed new wiring and receptacles in all of the rooms on the first floor and insulated and sheet rocked some of those rooms making it possible for the family to be back living in their home eight months after the flood.
