OUR HISTORY

In the summer of 1948 summer residents held services in the community hall of Lexington Heights.
In 1953, 18 charter members decided to organize a year round congregation. At that time the congregation chose the name "St. Matthew ".
On July 11, 1954 the 42 members dedicated the church on Lakeshore Road in Lexington Heights.
The present church, which stands on Huron Avenue in Lexington was once a hand hewed timber house built in the 1860's. Church members renovated the house and dedicated the church on July 12, 1964.
