HUNTING AND FISHING
For those of you that don't know me, hunting and fishing play a very important part in my life. I have hunted in Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, and Texas and fished in Colorado, Wyoming, North Carolina, Texas, Wisconsin, and Alaska. I hope to fish in Montana, Oregon, Washington, Lousiana, South Carolina, Australia, and Africa and to hunt in South Carolina, Alaska, Canada, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Oklahoma, Africa, and Australia over the next few years. If you don't like pictures of dead animals and fish, feel free to leave this page.

Me and a lingcod I caught up in Alaska over Labor Day Weekend 2007

Me and a wild pig I shot down on the Rio Bonito Ranch over Martin Luther King Day weekend 2008

Me and a turkey I shot in Kansas in the spring of 2005

Me and the turkey I shot in Kansas in the spring of 2004

Me and my first turkey in 2001 in Southeast Colorado

Me and the cow elk/wapiti I shot in 1994 in South Park. We no longer own the cabin.
Currently, I am planning a fishing trip over the Fourth of July Weekend to Alaska, a turkey hunting trip to Kansas in April of this year, a dove hunting trip to Kansas this September, a hunting trip for exotic game and wild pig at the Rio Bonito Ranch in January of 2009, a pheasant hunting trip to Kansas next winter, and, hopefully if Cousin Craig can get me permission to hunt on private land, a deer hunting trip to South Carolina combined with a deep sea fishing trip out of Morehead City NC on the same trip back east.

I will be putting in for a regular deer license and a pronghorn antelope license in Colorado this year. Going to talk with my neighbor Wade to find out the best season for him to deer hunt, so he can start deer hunting. Cousin Craig and his boys may start putting in for Colorado deer and pronghorn licenses this year. When I go up to Alaska this year, I'll be going after halibut, possibly lingcod, and salmon. I will probably do some goose hunting in Kansas when I go pheasant hunting there and I may see about some snow goose hunting this fall or winter 2008/09. As for favorite guns to use, I like a Ruger Mk II in .270 for pronghorn and wild pig and I think it will be good on exotic game in Texas and deer in South Carolina. For elk/wapiti, I like the 7.92x57mm Mauser, but I may try a .375H&H next time I hunt for elk next. I may use a .257 Weatherby when I deer hunt this year. The Remington 870 in 12gauge has been my favorite for ducks, geese, and pheasants, while I like a Winchester turkey shotgun in 12 gauge for turkeys. As I work on this website more, I may start including wild game recipes in a recipe page.
